Ah, where does love begin? Well for me it was back in 1996 or so when Suspect Device reviewed a demo by a band called Annalise and heartily recommended it. Being a trustful sort of chap I sent off for a copy and, well, the beautiful Annalise-Pigdog union began. Prior to Annalise, members had been in a host of other great punk bands like Mad at the Sun and Wordbug (both of whose material you should definitely hunt down) and had already built a scene in their hometown of Exeter, putting on punk and hardcore gigs and setting up their own label (Hometown Atrocities). Following a fateful tour of Europe, Wordbug returned home to their produce their final recordings... but they split up and the songs manifested themselves as the first Annalise release, "Fettered"...
